The Bibliosphere is a wordplay-based TTRPG with an emphasis on creativity. The players will be stranded in a mind-boggling reality where reality is fiction and vice-versa. You'll use a collection of books to steer the course of the adventure while also trying to make it out of the Bibliosphere in one piece.

This narrative driven game is designed to be played over one (or a few shorter) sessions where the main part of play will be finding the most evocative words to "invocate"; that is, to bring in to the real world.

To play the game you will need:

  • A GM
  • Players
  • Writing Implements,
  • d20
  • Printed Character Sheets
  • A relatively wide selection of books. The recommended minimum would be about 5 books per player but fewer would work if more than one player was to use the same book
  • Extra character sheets in case players run out of room for book titles

Make sure that if you are  player you only download the Player Rules. GMs should read the Player Rules as well as the GM Page. There is also a supplemental page of ideas in the GM Page file that would fit a plethora of different themes depending on which direction the GM wishes to take (recommended that only GMs download this page too). The game would highly suit a comedic tone but the options are many.

The game is very much in it's first iteration, and changes to the design and rules will be made further down the line.

All art created using the Midjourney AI.

I really loved this, and I'm tempted to use it as an interlude (in some way) when my players visit a wizard's lost library.

It's fun to imagine that books might range from literature giants to roleplaying spellbooks, source books and other splatbook fun.

I'm glad that point came across. Any books are good books for the game. Thanks for reading through!
